Once upon a time there were three little boys who were cousins and best friends in every way. They played together and swam together and slept together and ate together and they grew up together and they had moms who were also best friends. And every night the moms would pray for their boys to the Divine above, each in their own way.
Every night, this mom would pray to God and she would say, “Dear Lord God Heavenly Father please wrap your loving and protective arms around these three boys, Billy, Jayson and Steven. Thank you. Amen.”
Well, the boys grew older and and began to drive and then one day Jayson drove his car into a telephone pole and he died. And the moms were very sad. And the two remaining boys were very sad. And this mom began to pray even harder, twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, “Dear Lord God Heavenly Father please wrap your loving and protective arms around these two boys, Billy and Steven. Thank you. Amen.” And several years went past and one of the boys started to heal and one of them could not get up and one of the moms started to heal and the other mom could not get up. And so it went. One mom trying to encourage the other mom to get up. One boy trying to encourage the other boy to get up.
And then one day, one of the boys was playing a very dangerous game with people he thought were his friends, but they were not. And he put an electrical cord around his neck and he stepped off a chair and he hanged there until he died.
And both of the moms were very sad and the remaining boy was very sad. And this mom fell down and could not get back up and there was no one there to encourage either of the moms or the remaining boy to get back up.
And this mom no longer dares to pray for Steven.
